Armadillo Under My Pillow

Armadillo Under My Pillow

A Poem by L.G. Knight
"

Just a cutesy little rhyme...

"

There is an armadillo,

Hiding under my pillow,

Too scared to come out and fight.

He sleeps away the day,

While the battles are waged,

And only comes out at night.

I defend his homeland,

Because he cannot stand,

Against the general and his men.

But at night he finds his pride,

Sneak us Mexican Supplies,

Their unknown payment for their sin.

When the day is done,

And this war is won,

And Texas is finally free.

Noone will know,

It's because of an armadillo,

As Much as it is of Davey.

But he won't mind,

That Spotlite Won't shine,

Because he has played his part.

Besides when at the Alamo,

He has come to know,

He much prefers the dark.
