Hate InoculationA Poem by L.G. KnightIf Only!Violence today is on a rampage With no indication that it will soon fade People have worked themselves into a rage The results splashed all over the news's front page A virus has spread all over the world Accusations and blame everywhere hurled But everyone is the cause of what makes our blood curdle Because anger and hatred in our veins swirl Can we not find love for all of our fellow man Can we not at least try to do what we can Or is letting it go on this way our only plan Will no one join me in attempting to take a stand We continue to go on leaving it alone Thinking all of our chances have past us flown Reaping the soured fruits of these seeds we have sown No solutions pursued, no efforts shown But if we let the virus this way continue It will do naught but expand to a larger issue Infecting one after another just like the flu So here is what I propose that we do We should not settle ourselves in this state of placation We should give shots of love as an inoculation We can set up a van as a treatment station And drive it to every state in this nation When we finish here we can continue on Knowing our work has just barely begun We'll visit every land underneath the sun 'Till with the LOVE BUG we have infected everyone! © 2008 L.G.
