New Beginnings

New Beginnings

A Poem by L.G. Knight

Darkness rises, stealing the day

Light falls, slowly drifting away

Color fades, into greys and black

Paleness explodes; can we ever take it back?

Silence screams, as we lie in endless night

Voices whisper, we have to make it right

Fields collide, their fruits all but dead

Concrete opens, filling us with dread

Emptiness fills the void of missing love

Completeness empties, as we send prayers above

Skies wave, through the tears

Oceans cloud, heightening fears

Beginnings end, or so they say

Endings begin a bright new day.
