The Star

I saw a star in the night sky
Against the black shinning so bright
And it made me think of you

Of all the times we watched the stars
And shared with eachother who we are
Remembering made me blue

But joy was hidden in the sad
Remembering the good times we had
And though I miss you so

From behind that star you watch over me
The tears, the smiles and memories you see
This is something that I know

I know you can't be here tonight
But our bond will stretch to the after life
I will see you again

So the star may sometimes make me cry
It also makes me smile
I know in my heart and mind this life
Is but a short while
When done I'll meet you
On the golden shore
To be together
Forever more
