The StandA Poem by L.G. Knight
I'm smiling bright to stop the tears
Laughing out loud to hide the fears
Use cover up to conceal the bruise
The one on my soul caused by you
Can't cover up true heart break
No matter how dark the tint on the shades
I never thought I was one to be used
I never thought I'd let myself be abused
I guess you can't tell when you can't see
No physical pain though I hurt so badly
Not a mark on my skin but I carry a scar
Big and bold down the center of my heart
I guess it makes you feel more like a man
To hurt me just because you know you can
But not anymore the time is right
The next heartache won't be mine
I will pick my and strength and stand my ground
Head held high no meekness to be found
You really don't know who you're dealing with
Pride is my sword like words were your switch
Time to say it; way past time
I'm tired of you handing me worn out lines
How can you stand there looking innocent and sweet?
I won't hold myself back if ever again we meet
So get your stuff its time for you to go
And don't look back once you hit that road
'Cause there won't be any tears to hide the smile
No more fears my eyes are brighter than they've been in a while...
