No More ChancesA Poem by L.G. Knight
Blue crescent moons
Made up her eyes
A long flowing mane
Silky black night
Diamond Like tears drops
Falling from her eyes
Like the spectacular shooting star
Streaking across the sky
Just as rare as that shooting star
Her tears seemed to be
So all the worse I felt knowing
These were caused by me
Oh but for one more chance
To touch that silky mane
Oh but for one more chance
To Speak her Melodious Name
That name however I don’t dare
To ever even murmur
For one’s who kill should never name
The ones that they have murdered
And murder her I did
Though maybe not by hand
But the words I said that night
Caused her untimely end
Oh But for one more chance
To look into her eyes
Oh but for one more chance
To take back all the lies
Oh but for one more chance
To hold her yet again
And if I could change the past
I’d take back her cruel end.
