Break-up

Break-up

A Poem by L.G. Knight

Here I sit both tired and worn...
My feelings for you a little bit torn.

I love you and you know that I do...
So how do I tell you we are through?

We aren't going in the same life direction
I can't not change mine for my affection.

So I search in the midst of my turmoiled heart
For the words that say we must part.

Search as I might I can find none
So I say it to you cold "we're done"

I am sorry to have broken you so
I am sorry that I had to go

I wish I could but I couldn't stay
Maybe we will meet again one day.

In the mean time, I have to keep along my path
That will, one day, lead to happiness at last

Breaking up can be so hurtful, even when its our choice...........a sad write but knowing that there is
still possibilities of love down the road.

We aren't going in the same life direction
I can't not change mine for my affection.

So I search in the midst of my turmoiled heart
For the words that say we must part.

Lovely flow throughout.
