Angels at heavens gateA Poem by L.G. Knight
He was her dream man in every sense
He was smart and funny, it must have been ment.
Sweet and Kind a gentleman to the last
A whirl wind relationship, marriage in a flash.
Nine months later a daughter so sweet
Another side of him she’d yet to meet.
It started in the middle of one night
When the baby kept crying no matter what she tried.
His irritation he made very clear
With a slap so hard it rang in her ears.
And even though she begged him “please”
He used his fist till she hit her knees
With the baby crying in the back ground
He just kept going till he beat her down
With her black eyes swelled with tears
She crawled to her daughter
And tried to calm her fears
And though she shouldn’t,
She continued to stay
It wasn’t his fault,
Just a stressful day
It’d be alright come morning light
There’d be no repeats of that terrible night.
Day by day she continued to live
Always remembering but destined to forgive
And when it happened yet again
She told herself it was her own sin
That caused this time for him to break
When you do something wrong you accept your fate
All she wanted was his love
Now she fly’s on wings like a dove
An angel sent to heavens gate
Dead by love shown with actions of hate
If only he’d known what it would do
When he “loved” his wife to death
And his Daughter too…
