Okay I'm just gonna gun this out in my way of interpretation and it'll probably be weird but here goes.
Lines 1&2 a new born baby in need of nurturing and care. Lines 3&4 life flashes and it is faster than you thing so make the most of it. Lines 5&6 life will get harder as you grow older. lines 7&8 and eventually you will die. Lines 9,10,11&12 this is a vicious cycle that the living is bound to without exception, this is the weight of life and you can't escape. lines 13&14 we will have no choice but to face the music at some point i.e. death.
lines 15&16 questions whether you will go out with grace being content with the life you have lived, or will you fade away in the abyss without ever leaving a mark?
kinda wordy I know, sorry for that. also I would actually like to know what you were actually thinking about when you wrote this. really like the subtlety in this one.
a tongue of destiny strikes me one-kind or perhaps one-of-a-kind. Perhaps you could explain
what you mean within context. However, a state of grace is understood. Even Mahatma Ghandi believes in the ideal of "a state of grace"... Alrite
