THE NARROW

shade bleeds a velvet texture
stretching far and wide
strides to smother
clawed hands grasping thread
rip apart layers to shed
bear the stains of men
rise and swagger free
struggle to breathe  
steps in spites deceit
skipping stones of jaded need
trail of tears in layered debris
vacant rows of burdened clay
broken back gathering neat
harvesting the last belief

Striving for everything you want and pushing your existence to the very limit until you get it or burning your life away hoping you will.
I relate to this because ever since I left high school at 18 I have been dreaming of becoming an animator and making it big, and I will be 30 this year, I have nothing to show for it, and I will be damned if I ever give up on that dream, I still want it and I am hoping and praying. something's got to give.

I like that you took in the feeling I was working on. There is religious symbolism in this piece , the narrow, is from the term "straight and narrow" and a path of bondage not liberation. Thank you for taking the time to read and leave a review
