MISERY'S HAMMER

MISERY'S HAMMER

A Poem by TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerror
"

" long before we could see "

"

the appearance, an impression to please

living buried underneath, tucked inside to reside in need

wanting stains the hands of hope, to bend a knee and pray

understanding madness, as a cold still reach

the peaks of destiny’s belief

shadow’s our semblance, long before we could see

a tedious churning thickness

disturbed, requires cover for the comfort of restraint

breathing in the deep, to calm this keep

losing ground to stay clear, the voice of fear

a volatile sound, now rounded and fit for chain

freedom is the Idea realized and never ever seen

the scourge, calls to be wound down for spite

winding it and winding it once again

the tighter the twist, until we cannot fix

the risk and the urge to tighten again

until the weight of knowing, is sure to weaken

a turning of events borders the peaceful calm surface

the appearance, an impression to please

the pretty place perfect for a keepsake

preciously smothered to appear tame, kept in a frame

refusing to entertain or warn with her Screams

misery holds tight her hammer and swings

Ahh sublime and soulful tinges. Great word choice as u muse in poetic metaphor. And creative phrasings such as '"volatile sounds" . I must say kudos.

Soo nice to read from u again, would like your great thoughts on my latest poem too, pleez, on suicide.

the way you sew words together, they practically read themselves. flows so smoothly and elegantly. you have an impressive style. your wording has amazing depth and feeling. can tell that it comes from deep inside. quite the perspective revealed here. so telling about life. there is so much to digest in your writes. this leaves the door open to interpretation. it is dark but with glimmers of light. great pics as usual too. nice work.

Right away I knew this was going to be one of my favorites. I love the loose obscurity wrapped in ambiguity leaving it to the reader to have a unique experience from it, with you as the tour guide. Lastly the ending left me with a strong urge to shout or battle cry, like I just won something. Great piece.

well you know that you`re welcome,,now it`s time to cough up your real identity,
Sometimes, you just gotta lay the hammer down. Even from a position of disadvantage, at least they never see it coming.

I think willie nelson sung a song about that.

Not about your poem, I have no idea what that means.

Tom Brady's gonna win another super bowl. The man is unflappable (also, he's kind of a d********g).

I liked your poem.

The poem is so good. Photos and words. Hard, raw and direct. Each of us must know struggle. Better to lead with kindness and concern. Listening is what we need to do my friend. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. I did like this one.

I see this as a plea for freedom, the process and struggling, the stuck in place, the enormous need, the confusion in mind that makes things even harder... and how most of people judge only the look, the smile, without getting deeper and behind it.
