Cold linoleum floors call a path

the unforgiving jaded tiles

follow lines to break a back

cricks and cracks or bust

level your eyes don't look back   

the Squeak and screams

slowly turn recognizable

Announcing my arrival

entry into familiar depravity

the devils screams are mandatory

flickers of light from above

weave in and out of time

keeping me ever the empath

leftovers are stacked beside

the price for hunger is high

voices come and go

rhyming in a muffled flow

back and forth moves a tempo

it paces with this place

blurring stripes into shapes

how subtle this perdition

mocking a manifest and beyond

zero plus zero = inferno

no ID, no witness, no news at three

that means I am not guilty

a pound of flesh is still too much

humbled ever still I reach the end with a climb

put a butterfly in a jar just to watch her die

the secret is don't be to attached

thrown out like the prize in a cracker jack

compromised metal

now confines me

blinds me

defines me

allegedly

there is nothing to fear

but fear itself

guaranteed prize in every box

shame and notoriety

Joe Arpiao is kind of a racist a*s hat and really was a severely overrated ineffective lawman. Before he was beaten in the last election for Sherriff his department cost the government around $150 million dollars in various lawsuits and settlements. He would rather illegally detain immigrants than make sure sex crimes are fully investigated (seriously). He's lucky his president is also a barely closeted racist so he could get a pardon for that contempt of court charge. Now that he's gone the "tent city" jail and all that nonsense is being shut down or has already been shut down. You're about a year too late with this one but it's still good to bring awareness about people like Joe Arpiao so that BS isn't repeated.

Research not necessary it is how I defined the Tent's you are right Tent City is gone what we call the Tent's used for work furlough and other hotel time still resides. I am local the tents are still here. Joe is gone.

If you did actual research you would know they are in the process of relocating and shutting those parts down. It's a logistical thing down to the last 200 people. You make it sound like these things are permanent when that couldn't be further from the truth. It seems like you are trying to sensationalize and distort the reality of that situation so your poem sounds more urgent. What is wrong with you if I did actually research it. I lived it I have experienced it first hand. I say nothing about the tents in my poetry. The Poem is about the depravity Joe was and left in his wake.
