Together We Stand Divided We fallA Poem by TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerror" A special thank you to CaffeinatedMe for editing. "an ideal rings liberty's song follows strong the sunrises with a roosters crow ties are tightened and numbers flow this true rung bell continues as a choir surrounds with an echo and hits with a roar falls like thunder moves like a storm travels as a cold wind to blow runs the coast from shore to shore the highest places fulfill the lowest in between touching all as a light can be seen deeply pure to resonate and incite the spirit within a single hand is raised into a sea this mass stands strong with a single plea chorales a sound with the perfect pitch a slow beat a bait and a switch dogma on a leash and the theory of a wish uninvited and forever coming around the dream can always be found seen over the rainbow evermore around the next corner second choice the sharpest knife in the drawer ready and dying to take your pulse gathering a slight possibility to discover a snapshot revealing the grand scheme a strong repeating theme mixes in and out a constant weave touching the signs of life with an on again off again current we cling to the rule of thumb the blind will lead the dumb a systematic constant meltdown how does your garden grow follow the leader and go with the flow this inevitable rise and fall just another snow globe cracked for the thrill first come first serve and second place is taken compromise is whistling the tune to a sound faint and near looking on a map for the place marked “ you are here “ the promised land our destination is ever clear compromise stops for temptation and a gamble watch out for this dealer he’s got your number an ace up his sleeve he plays with the devil deception takes the wheel and a chime stays asunder this allure's one sublime side with a sum bigger than wonder riding in the back under a cover we sit with hatred and terror the road home is a far away place grim and agreed hopeless we toll the bell discreet on our knees and in the streets it’s the serenade recurring of what we once resembled and held dear as long as hope lingers we remain the gracious fool a blind man’s happenstance sight is incidental obstruction and veto rendezvous the real idealistic rage against justice is simply a bargain for a vote we are weighed and measured by democracy’s scale in the constant everyday fight a song we sing as one answering to a mighty roll call and the mirage of a dream an ideal rings Terry D’Arcy-Ryan
