This Poem was written for my Mother. Memory's of my Mother take me back to a time when women were not thought of as equal to Men. A time when abuse of any kind remained secret and women silent. My Mother would ask for my silence in glances and actual words if angry enough. She wasn't ready for me I was born to Roar. The Love that flows through a generation of Women is woven here in my words for my daughter Natalie, mother Marilee, grandmother Gladys and my special great grand ma Cassy. Death has not changed my heart, you are still are blood of my blood, "Oh Mother, hear me Roar". If you are still reading thank you and God Bless

Its beautifully written, how a womans voice is being deprived from expressing her feel. This is something that is bothering every women even today after all the freedom fights too. The constitution says right to speech but the same constitution fails to make her voice from being heard.

"My flood of tears deprive color"
I m cry for all my grand mothers pain
About my daughter 's
"Blossoms I grew with my own hands care"
The cycle continues as I age and i become the old woman keeper of knowledge for the next generations
The line "A sliver of diamond shining in the dark"
my youth is gone and in a far away place I occasionally gaze at.
"Under a moon of riots and wars"
Because it's always a struggle some men are always trying to control something they have no right to control. Thank you I appreciated you point of view. I am very passionate about women's rights.
A sliver of silver diamond in the rough dark... My eyes were deprived of color upon reading this, but with a roar... Well... I seem to have gotten my hues back, just in time for the thunderous end of a sweetly penned poem...

What a review, you put a smile on my face during a very stressful day I thank you.
true to your theme, there is a subtle power, truth & sadness knitted in your words. pics add nicely. this reminded me of the 1971 Helen Reddy song "I Am Woman" with it's opening line, "I am woman, hear me roar", which i believe is a women's liberation song. this got me thinking about how women are treated in different cultures. in many ways, women are the stronger sex. regardless, respect is always the order of the day, which incidentally is another song by Aretha Franklin. you always do such a nice all around job with your writes. thanks for sharing.

My Mother's generation stood silent for abuses and tolerant of inequalities. My mother often shushed me saying, someone will hear you. As women our life crossed similar outrages but I will not be shushed. Thank you Coyote for you amazing words.
When I was a young girl I was your average Tomboy. I lived to watch Star Trek the only thing that could take me away from the voyages of the Star Ship Enterprise was playing Baseball with the boys. .. more..
