This Poem was written for my Mother. Memory's of my Mother take me back to a time when women were not thought of as equal to Men. A time when abuse of any kind remained secret and women silent. My Mother would ask for my silence in glances and actual words if angry enough. She wasn't ready for me I was born to Roar. The Love that flows through a generation of Women is woven here in my words for my daughter Natalie, mother Marilee, grandmother Gladys and my special great grand ma Cassy. Death has not changed my heart, you are still are blood of my blood, "Oh Mother, hear me Roar". If you are still reading thank you and God Bless

really don't have a review
so much as to say that this hits home
the imagery like scattered memories
little beacons lit along life's paths
marking where we've been
the roar reprised
a reaffirmation of choice and style
of love in one's own way

The other verses cover the sorrow and pain of a mother. The silent sadness of mourning a mother and a child. This poem is so special to me, I wish for it to be read with a unique image for everyone. Thank you for reading my poem and leaving a review.

"Under a moon of riots and war", extremely vivid. The piece as a whole, bold. Loved it.

Tears of frustration resulting in her roar going unheard or not allowed to be unleased? The tears then killing the flowers she herself grew? I understand squashing a primal howl at the unfairness of it all...am I close? Remember I'm still at neophyte status in reading poetry and this is really deep. And the words flow...not disjointed, they all connect properly for a smooth read.

given children so unlike ourselves. My mother was always with the keep that to yourself. But I would see her smile with pride when I would Roar and stand up for myself. My Roar is tribute.
" to stop the rains devour "
breaking the cycle of 4 generations of women
" my flood of tears deprive color "
I cry for them and their suffering I miss my Mother, my grandma and great grandma
" Bouquets fade like the cinders of a fire "
the front row seat to watching the joy and beauty taken in abuse
'" Blossoms I grew with my own hands care "
this is my oldest daughter I still mourn the loss
" hands that left my beauty so dear "
I am a grandmother now and age is changing me
my beauty is escaping
" beauty she resides with the smallest of stars "
when we think about our lost love ones we always look up look into the sky this smallest star
contains my lost love ones and the past beauty
" A sliver of diamond shining in the dark "
what I do see in the mirror is not me I remember my past and my granddaughter will walk in and she contains the resemblance of
four generations She is what I have of my daughter, mother grandma and my great
" under a moon of riots and war "
the fight never ends to keep the independence and I live so all my girls will not let a man ever overpower or abuse them I try to exhibit a strength a behavior of always having a deep respect for yourself.
so all that in these 12 lines a mothers day tribute to four generations of women. Thank you carol and god bless
