A New DayA Poem by TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerrorrounds of light fire random into the night dark beholds and steps out of the light rays of illumination shine bright Obscurity has me blindfolded for reckless insight my direction now slight Owner of lost and ambivalent despite A stalemate with no sign of bending for dark or light Insistent to the end for a win outright two roads to choose or neutrally remain which leads to provenance kin I hear both the black and the white noise ordain A connection to Heaven’s Grace and a foot hold in Hell’s domain good and evil offer their maps, both navigations contain the unbelievable claim Unable to afford sublime devotion or sacrifice’s pain stubbornness is mine I hold dear her restrain We will not bow or beg, this is engrained Hope, chimes in and wants to turn around Enthusiastic to be homeward bound the road home I resound is nowhere to be found he left angry and feeling rundown Before I could explain the profound Hope downsized for an innocent playground And I persevere, simple as black, white, up or down The Future is quick as lightning with an on again off again spark of interest pessimistic defines the Present silently waiting my consent stalking and mocking from a distance my Destiny, approaching from the path of least resistance leaning against fate with a leering grimace Recanting his tale regarding free will and a man’s great indepence I ponder in depth until I nearly drowned in Wonder Should I walk the line on one side or the other to find my Peace of Mind, lost by owner Suddenly remembering, I pawned it for Oblivions bender A night I still can't remember Chance arrives uninvited, for sure Always elegantly willing to interfere Hand and hand with Enlightenment ( such a Pretender ) oh, to have wings the same as either side to fly the skies endless Leave this world behind to embrace the blue horizons breathless the heights I would soar courageous Or fall hard to the earth’s bound Abyss wingless unstoppable mortal force meets gravitational force the unusual journey down the center of indifference measures a small space Heavenly Virtues of the right hand are obscure to Hell and the Deadly Sins of left hand’s trace Standing tall misaligned to Light or Dark and awaiting convergence in a New Day © 2017 TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerrorReviews
