GraceA Poem by TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerror
Sitting on our steps Wishful for your presence I reminisce passed by with the moments Hopes lost soul with no way home Time will draw a map or a pardon will come No victims here that much is clear The Same Old steps we always kept, I persevere swept worthy now with a mother's tear Unforgiving, beholds an unanswered prayer Mercy is busy, no time for despair reality sits beside defiant as if a dare Step by step, I used to number the days and kept the seasons neat Caught and named all falling star’s watching their descent These things are all in order as if you didn’t leave Their numbered here and devout as the last time I kissed your cheek Today I stopped counting and the world is just the same I no longer dream of finding you as if you just misplaced The bank of falling stars cracked open and I take the blame Even with regret This mishap made it clear I do not need to see you here To make you complete I do not need forget me not's To keep your memory awake You smile everyday And exist always In a string of things Woven deep into my grace I do not keep you here You remain
