Death

Death

A Poem by TerryDarcy-Ryan akaSheerTerror

the Sky

held my elegant shadow

against the long winter day

with the falling of the sun

fell a bird

fallen on the grace

of a cold blooded race

the look in her eyes

I will never escape

her silence reached across

to touch my trembling flesh

the familiar was gone

where softness and youth once lived

and a sea roared

upon the mountains in my heart

long winter days

came to an end

light fallen under windows

I saw your old things, dolls and swings

life was taught here

like the sound in a seashell

it echoes over the wall

and my heart believes

the fallen bird found peace

as I hear her song with the falling of the sun

warm winter spirits

I will remember you by

reach me now in dreams

your spirit I will always know

but your death

I can not hold

Thank you for the review

Sheer Terror
A deep journey in the words. You took the reader to many places and questions. The tone of the poem was dark, realistic and true. Death is a free-being. Cannot be controlled or stopped. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

It's beautiful. That being said I think the flow is almost interrupted by the rhyming. Granted rhyming isn't bad I use it often. Well done.

This was elegant and heartfelt but you know...no one truly dies. For, as long as you hold their love in your heart that is where the birds song will echo ever more. Well done Sheer Terror.
