EarthA Poem by AnwenKyaJust a little free-verse poem, written in about 10 minutes to practice non-rhyming poetry.A silver spider Spins a web of lies And catches truth. Tangled in silk Asphyxiated by coils Of dusty delusions And half-formed words From frozen tongues. A drowning Sun Melts in an ocean sky Riddled with disease. Cancer of the air, An aluminium glow From choking smoke Formed from afar, From within itself. Waves rise and fall A chain of breaths Soft and easy, Like loving a child. Dusky jewels Pearls of the sea Wash ashore in the tides A gift, a plea. Delicious warmth Bathed in harsh ice Our emotions are fake. Concrete on steel, Warnings in crimson, Our eyes are veiled. Tears in the snow, Our emotions are lies. © 2008 AnwenKya |
