That One person

The first step you have to take is to admit the truth.

I think we all went through this
that state of mind
when you feel so worthless
so not good enough
for a person
even when you were
confident around others.

It took me years to realize
no matter what
no matter how beautiful your soul is
no matter how gorgeous you are
no matter how logical you think,
there’s always gonna be The One.

The One is someone
you feel deeply connected with
or, unfortunately, used to
Someone whom you admire
love more than anyone alse
ever possibly could
it’s someone who
you’d suffer for
and if you could choose
your last thing to see,
it would be
their smile.


I swear to all the gods
even through I hate you
for what you’ve done to me
even when you taught me
how disgust tastes
on my very own tongue
which you made come alive
If I could choose one person
to fall for me
validate me
admire me
to connect with me again
I’d always choose you.
