PowerA Poem by SheahJust a glimpse at my thoughtsSo maybe God is not powerful at all Maybe he does not start earthquakes He cannot motivate a person cancer cells to reproduce He is not the reason for a mass genocide of a beautiful nation
So maybe God is not this omnipotent creator Maybe he does not save the almost brain dead child He cannot put one’s soul mate into their life He is not the one to give a lucky man his incredible promotion
So maybe God is our father, our mother, our guardian He wants to see us happy but cannot change the world But he can give us those simple, small precious moments
The welcomed breeze on a sticky, summer day The soft grass where we lay With an ever-loving dog
The days we spend with loved ones Forever laughing at ridiculous puns Smiling, happy to be alive
And maybe for me a soul-filled song We cannot help but to sing along And lose ourselves awhile
So maybe God is not powerful at all He brought us into being but just like a mom He must leave us decide and govern our own lives He can make us a hot water bottle and put on the kettle But come up with miracle cures? I think not!
God makes life more bearable for us and helps us when he can
Perhaps, with due consideration, he is powerful after all. © 2015 Sheah |
