Dive

Dive

A Poem by Leanne Marie
"

**Based on a recent experience, which helped me to realize how much I miss a certain someone

"

The ocean parts ways with the shore

and tries to take me with it

My feet sink deeper into the sand

I don't ever want to leave this place

A seagull sings his lonely tune

and reminds me much of you

The way the butterflies tickled inside

The way my heart just flew

You kept me safe

cradled in your arms

You stifled all my cries

Now you're the only voice my heart

could bear to recognize

You whispered softly in my ear,

Told me not to fear,

That you're here

you wiped away every tear

And life suddenly became clear...

But now you've gone,

You've disappeared,

Left me standing here,

Abandoned,

On the shores of the lonely sea

I opened my heart so you could drown my sould

and everything that once was me.

So I'll let myself be swallowed by the ocean blue,

And try to erase these last thoughts of you

As I linger through these waters

I'll bid you a sad adieu,

but I'd be lying if I said

I wouldn't miss you

But life will go on like the waves of the sea,

I'll float through these waters

feeling so free

But inside I'm chained with the hope

That one day,

You'll dive in after me
