That Little Green Robin

That Little Green Robin

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

His wings spread wide...

"
His wings spread wide,
Catching the air,
Propels him forward,
The little green robin,
And as he flies,
Takes to the air,
Fights the wind,
He sings a gentle melody,
"We can soar higher
Than we were before"
So he beats his wings,
That little green robin,
Flying to the tips,
Of the maple trees,
Staring down,
At the world beneath him,
Getting smaller and smaller,
As he chants to himself,
The little green robins mantra,
That has kept him going,
Unafraid,
"We can soar higher
Than we were before"

Author's Note

SheActsLikeSummer
You know the song "We are young"? Anyway, some of the lyrics are "We can glow brighter than the sun" or something like that but at first I thought it was "We can soar higher than we were before", don't ask me why. Anyway, this was my inspiration for the poem. I hope you like it.

I wish there was a single moment in my life that summed up who I am. Just a short snippet of time that I could copy and paste here so I didn't have to rack my mind for something to say. But I kind of .. more..
