A Tiny, Little Soul

A Tiny, Little Soul

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

My strange views on life told in a poem. So yeah, read on if you want to know what this messed up little girl has written this time.

"
I'm just another worthless
human being in this world.
I'm not special or anything
none of us are.
I like to fool myself sometimes
tell myself that I'm different.
But no matter how good I am
at something, someone else
will always be better.
And I can't change that
because, frankly, it's a fact.
But the sad thing is, we'll never know
who exactly is "the best".
So for now, nobody is
and this fact applies to us all.
I also wonder sometimes, why
we're here in the first place.
To reproduce I guess
but there are too many
people on this planet
and it's only getting worse
and soon we'll run out of room.
So why, I ask, am I here?
Why bother with yet another person?
Because this person doesn't need
to be the best at anything.
She doesn't need to be powerful.
She doesn't need to be famous.
Or rich or important.
She won't be any of those things.
But she's going to take
her tiny little soul
in a mass of billions
and make it shine brighter.
Not just for herself
but for all the people
who have lives
but are struggling
to live.
I am her.

About
I wish there was a single moment in my life that summed up who I am. Just a short snippet of time that I could copy and paste here so I didn't have to rack my mind for something to say. But I kind of .. more..
