Hush

Hush

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

You lead me up palace steps...

"
You lead me up  palace steps
where misery courses through the halls
You lead me down a corridor
where fear lines the walls
The light that shines through windows
is suffocated by the fog
The silent sounds that gasp for air
are muffled by the smog
I'm forced deeper into the awaiting
cage rattles, sound is smothered
I'm forced further into the imminent
sparks fly, light is smothered
And then it comes for me
with it's bright red eyes
and menacing growl
And then all that's left is
Hush.
