They say your life flashes before your eyes when you are about to die. Mine didn’t. There was a time where I pondered on about death"it never crossed my mind the concept of dying was an option for her either. It was always something possible for those who intervened with my dysfunctional family. No feelings, attached. In the flames of hell, I can guarantee those wretched souls is smiling at this moment. It pains me to observe how everything is turning out. Nearly crushing her central torso, opposing flesh restricting the small woman on the cement surface beneath the two. One large hand restraining her shoulder, the other simply carries a bladed weapon in mid-air. My insides slowly feeling their posture tearing by the new-found uneasiness. Justice never contemplates a move; hesitation is smeared clearly for anyone to see from this range. It was unlike him to waste precious time. It may grow to be fatal if I make the same mistake as him. The red liquid shifts it’s course in my system. An abrupt dash begins, filled with sincere hopes brightening the empty soul inside. Each hard step gains wanted speed; but it wasn’t enough. My body yearns the running power capable of reaching the two in time. The sharp edge neared the woman’s chest. His movements restarting again, he were preparing for something I feared. Her life’s endpoint. Light trimmed eyebrows drops down in the act of angst’s motion; my white teeth lowers themselves touching together providing an aggravated expression. “Enough!” my high pitched feminine tone yelled out. Through the climbing anger, it no longer was important to care how the two people would react to my appearance. His sword halted inches from the heart of the one who he called, beloved. Her cocoa hues squints under closed eyelids. Taking one brief moment to stare down at the female before him, remorse cease in showing. Cuts torn the once attached cheek skin; fresh blood has yet to stop flowing from newly made wounds. He almost could not recognize the heavily bruised face, most would consider beautiful. Her narrow, round nose oozing small crimson liquid giving the hint that the structure isn’t as straight as it was before the two reunited. Justice pushes himself up using the heels of his feet laced in black boots. He turns his entire wretched athletic form, gazing upon the newcomer. “It’s a bit too late to play hero, kid,” He said, amused. A smooth, light husky voice occupies between his rising lips. “If you are who you say you are, I don’t see you living to the title either of us has obtained.” “Who said I care for the legacy you both have?” I responded angrily, pausing the moving action in my feet. The distance between him and I are a few spaces apart. “Right now, the only thing I want is my mother back. It’s a shame you don’t live up to your name.” “It comes with the job at hand,” He arched a fine brow, no longer entertained. More so, unfazed and points his left hand at my direction holding the same weapon that injured my own mother. The katana. “Fall back on this quest while you still can, girl.” © 2011 BigDreamer |
