you ask me
why

Friuty short piece with a peal; and now you ask me why?
If I try and merge the title with the lines all I see is this:

I keep coming back to this poem. Every time I read it it makes me feel like I’m in an arid garden surrounded by wreaths of roses and eating grapefruit half-moons with my hands.

It’s beautifully tangible. But also full of the rebus of so many things left unsaid. Ernest Hemingway poetry.

I don’t know. There’s a depth in all the words you’ve chosen to leave out.

I really like the economy and fragrant palpability of it. That’s the impression it’s making on my mind, anyway. A thing we call poetry.
