Oh, Glorious Day

Oh, Glorious Day

A Poem by Shay33

Oh, glorious day.

When the sun passes the horizon

And floods our morning with light.

When birds sing happily, without care and

Curious rabbits jump through

Dew-caked grass.

Great, happy mornings when

The scent of coffee hangs in the air and

The sky is painted honey and

The atmosphere hums a lovely silence and

The crisp air lightly chaps your

Sniffling nose.

Such a stunning autumn morning when

My tennis shoes tap lightly

On the pavement and my

Warm, heavy breath

Pirouettes in front of me.

How I wish I never desired sleep

So I could see mornings like this

As they exited the womb,

Breaking the dawn.
