A smile that's gone

A smile that's gone

A Poem by Shayna Peterson
"

Sometimes people who used to smile so brightly, also frown the saddest...

"
It was his smile.
The way his eyes sparkled, and his teeth shown.
It was the lines that accented his face, whenever he would use his lips.
I wish that I could see it more, because I haven't in a while.
I miss the happiness in his smile that chilled me to the bone.
I miss it so much, because it clenched my heart by his fingertips.
It was the kindness in his smile that I fell for.
It was so simple, that I almost think myself foolish.
Why would I fall for something so simple and easy?
Now I don't see it anymore.
Yet something so simple as a smile that's been taken away, can be the cruelest.
Now all I see is a frown that covers your face completely.
