Beauty

Beauty

A Poem by Shawna

The colors of beauty
One often thinks
Of shimmering blues
Of the ocean
From light Mediterranean to
Deep sea near black
Or perhaps beauty is in the
Twinkling white
Of a snow capped mountains tops
Instead, maybe true beauty
Can be found in a green
The bright optimistic green of the foliage of a garden
And the deep earthy green of the forest trees
However, for me,
I find beauty in brown
The deep dark brown of my little boys eyes
The way they sparkle when they look into mine
They show their intelligence and wit in those brown depths
That brown holds within it
All the beauty of this world
And far outshines all other hues

As has been said, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Especially when the beholder is Mama.
