Leaving Today

Leaving Today

A Poem by Bob Dobbs

I would rather live in the top of a tree

Some place where my spirit feels free

And maybe we’ll see each other someday again

Until then just don’t worry about me friend

I tried to make coincide with all the things in my life

But the forest wept too hard for me

And it seems to whisper wisdom when it speaks

Its voice riding through the breeze

And when it came time to say or good byes

Baby I just couldn’t find the words to say

Just a memory and that’s all that I’ll be

Couldn’t change my ways and now I’m bound to ride this train

Through the pouring rain and the remainder of my days

And forever wishing that I had something to say

The first half riddled my mind with pleasant images, and by the end I felt saddened. I love that!
