Friendship

When I started school grade school in New York I was very shy and no one would really talk to me except this curly red-headed girl named Allison, she would also talk to me and called me by my full name but I never knew what say or how to act. One day we were paired up to make a colorful picture of a story we were reading in class and by destiny Allison was chosen has my partner.  She said “Madison Giovanni what are your favorite colors?” I stuttered “Um purple,” then she took out a purple a marker and a blue marker. By some magical way I was able to form a sentence, “Is blue your favorite color?” she responded by shaking her head yes while concentrating  on drawing a picture of a purple big flower and blue clouds. From then on we’ve been inseparable; we would go to each other house and play with Barbie dolls, have fun sleepovers and go shopping.                                                                 When were freshman’s in high school we meet Jacob, a tall athletic boy around our age in gym class. We both thought he was good looking but we had a code about boys if both a crush on the same guy we’d leave it to the other girls to fight over. A hot summer afternoon outside playing basketball me and Allison were much uncoordinated and saw Jacob making jump shots, so our teacher decide to have him help us. He came over and told us in his thick Brooklyn accent “That the key to basketball isn’t how many shots you can make but how hard you try”. I just looked over to Allison with a puzzled look on my face and being outspoken she said “ I don’t want basketball advice I just want to pass gym”, and with that Jacob started helping us and we all started to talk to each other and got to know Jacob. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and his father is an athletic trainer and his mother is and accountant.  I thought it was a nice change in meeting some would have regular parents with normal jobs, me and Allison had no idea what that was like. After meeting Jacob, it was us three all the way through high school; we are the best of friends.                            Now after graduating high school we are still close even though our lives are different but similar. Jacob is now a model for American Eagle and every time I go shopping I see his pictures in front of the stores and young girls swoon over how hot he is. I just roll my eyes and giggle about if they really knew how nerdy he was and picky about his food if they would even put up with him like me and Allison do. Allison being the amazing fashion designer that she is has many little stores across the world and goes across the world on a daily bases for work but somehow we still have time to talk on the phone and Skype when we have to. As for me I either spend my time in the recording studio or in the dance studio working on new moves for a music video or for my upcoming world tour. I’m amazed at how we can keep our friendship so strong and close through how hectic lives.
