They won't let it

They won't let it

A Poem by Shashwati Roy
"

quater life crisis

"
Sitting on a cold chair, dim lights flickering,
mic in front, mind wandering.
Heart wants to orate, sing on a high pitch,
but They won't let it.

Hair gets damp, palms sweating,
life's new instrument strumming.
Heart wants to play, be vulnerable,
but They won't let it.

Heart knows "They" will never be near,
Heart knows "They" will never be related.
But it is soft and timid,
so heart sit down with drinks and weeds,
gulp down sorrows in one shot kill.

oh heart!! it's down falling,
what they say it goes on dragging,
shoes withering but it goes on and on....
