Mother May I

Mother May I

A Poem by Listener
"

I have intended this for people of this site to read.

"

Mother may I remind you to what kindness is?

It is the way you say hello and address the young woman as a Miss.

When I compliment you, you must feel obligated to return the favor,

Not make it to where I must search in desperation or in long labor,

So When I produce a writing, in which I want one simple review,

I must go out on a mission to paddle upstream in a split canoe.

I have since been handing out critiques of other's work left and right

but only left with the feeling that I am only clinging onto a losing fight.

Now you all know how lonely or how bad I feel,

When I am not heard through the only way I can appeal

To all of those people not listening to my cry

but it will not matter for they will not read my question asking why.
