Saying Goodbye

Saying Goodbye

A Poem by Sharleen Boaden

...and then you were gone

I walked through the space that last held your face,

turned around and around

trying to absorb your trace...

I looked quickly left and then looked right,

eyes darting like a needle desperate to interlace

my soul into yours;

To weave a tangled cloth that

would hold us safe in one place

together for good...

I caught a glimpse as you raised up your hand

...and then you were gone
