Slumber

Slumber

A Poem by Sharleen Boaden

Into sleep I dive
Like being in a cinema when the lights go out
Dark comfort
Blotting the chaos out
Peace in dollops of quiet
Sliding down carousels and into my dreams
Flickering soft light like travelling sunbeams
I like it here, here in my slumber
Where times past, present and future
Glide across each other's borders in a timeless wonderland
And settle you gently on a liquid plateau
Where you can merge into fable and let go of the know.
