PLEASE FORGIVE ME

PLEASE FORGIVE ME

A Poem by Sharin

It's 2:00 a.m. and

again I woke with a start

one thought on my mind

"Please forgive me."

I get up, go to the bathroom

Get a drink, brush my teeth again

Still thinking,

"Please forgive me."

Go back to bed,

check my recordings

Look at the T.V.

But now I'm saying,

"Please forgive me."

Forgive me for not forcing you

to cry on my shoulder

when I felt you pain,

"Please forgive me."

As your lives fell apart

you never reached for me,

but I tried to reach for you,

"Please forgive me."

I thought if you needed me

you'd let me know and

I could show you I was there,

"Please forgive me."

For not showing you

how much of your pain I felt

and how much I Love You,

"Please forgive me."

For not wrapping you in my arms

and not telling you”

You are still my life,

Please forgive me."

I didn't want to interfere

or intrude in your lives

or even be in your way, so

"Please forgive me."

Very well written. It does make you think about many different things. For me I thought about how hard it is for some of us to reach out. I also thought about how, for some of us, we aren't sure if the recipient wants us to reach out. Still for others, they do not know how to reach out. Thanks for sharing.

This is a wonderful piece. Simple, yet able to strike a powerful chord in the reader. Quite an amazing write.

Very powerful statement. I am sure that every parent must feel this way at one time or another.
