Ardor woolgathering

Ardor woolgathering

A Poem by Shards

Drunk on bliss
we waft like smoke on water,
featherlight hearts intertwining,

igniting in fiery magenta and tangerine passion.

Willfully blind,
we pray our claims will have a semblance of authenticity,
but we're just glowing embers being stoked by cupid’s cold steel arrow,
a pair of unwelcomed gifts in the scrutinized aftermath of a distant future.

Naivety green lighted,

we walk barefoot on this glass shard strewn road called love,

fearless and driven by impulses impossible to think through

while gluttonous lust leaves cancerous bruises only time’s ointment can heal.

Hopefulness laced with skepticism our inevitable downfall

we clasp hands and kiss anyway,

affectionately imparting these flaws on the pearls of our wisdom,

racing to embrace this double-edged joy of being human.

I enjoyed this piece very much. You have a way with doing so much with so very few words. I thought it interesting how you described love in all its phases from its first moements of Bliss to its last moements.

Wow! You're a wonderful poet! This was excellent:

Willfully blind,
we pray our claims will have a semblance of authenticity,
but we're just glowing embers being stoked by cupid's cold steel arrow,

I loved everthing about this.

The dance you had with the english language was flawless and fluid. I know I flowe the whole way thru this poem as if I had written it. The problem is i can't write like that. This was poetry. I just got some words on a page. Standing O my friend Standing O.

Beautiful writing: "pearls of our wisdom racing to embrace being human, joy a double edged sword of some sort, enlightened and yet glowing." Very impressive :)

Hmm...I get the distinct impression love has hurt you badly in the past.
It's like we meet, boy, girl, love, live, yet destined for failure, and we know
this, yet we want that temporary pleasure, the rush, even though it
will all end.

Love is a b***h, b*****d, of both sexes, and no one knows what
will happen, yet we put ourselves out there to feel something.

Of course, love does exist, but hard to keep.

brilliant! i absolutely adored this piece! you play with your paint very carelessly yet calculatingly. the canvass then show a marvelous, spectacular, dynamic, violent and inspiring portrait of ardor and cold.

there seems to be very vehement hidden concepts which readers may interpret differently yet end up with contemplating one same end-thought.

your allegories and impressions simply stun me. well done!

This was so great!! My favorite part was the beginning:
"Drunk on bliss
we waft like smoke on water,
featherlite hearts intertwining,

igniting in fiery magenta and tangerine passion."

There is so much emotion and power in this. You really have a way with words.
