The love's bridge

The love's bridge

A Poem by ShappireRose

I sit and watch as a bridge burns

Pain drums at my heart

Finally I walk

Down the shattered road behind

Voices in my mind

          Reminding me I am alone

I listen and cry

Nothing is right anymore

This road is broken like my heart

It mirrors my world

I stand at a crossing of roads

Not sure which to walk

I hear a new voice not like the others

Kind and gentle it speaks

I hear wings in the far distance of the first lonely road

I follow this sound to a dragon

Only to find not a dragon but a boy

He has become my home

He led me to safety,

To healing, to a brighter day

In his arms my pain is not real

That choice saved me

From that endless pain.
