Lost Kings and Queens

Lost Kings and Queens

A Poem by Shannon Pearce
"

Deep regret

"
You often flitter across my mind,
I wonder how you've been.
If life is being kind?
Do you still think of me as your queen?

Whenever I think of love,
My first thought leads to you.
I know what we had is lost,
I don't know what to do.

I wonder if it could be different now,
If only we had tried.
Is there a way to reignite this somehow?
Or has our love well and truly died?

I must say, though this is a bit iffy on a musicality level, this tugs at the heart, and wrenches it. WOW! Love the progression, and the narrative. It also has a strong title. I would only suggest - if you don't mind me saying so - that you tweak the musicality a bit. Other than that, well done!

This is a nice inspirational (w)rite of hope, and if you have not already made the attempt, maybe you should give whomever this person is a reading. Just a suggestion based on the emotions you so eloquently express. However, rue comes in many stages, and maybe you're simply going through some sort of rebound emotions? Much enjoyed just the same. ~Z
