Petals Of Love

Petals Of Love

A Poem by Twisted Angel

Its unbearable and I cant deal

With the pain you put me through

The constant sorrow that fills my soul

Walking on egg shells has become a way of life for me

Never knowing your true feelings for me

I bend over backwards and do cartwheels and flips

Just to try and feel the words I know youll never say

I hold on for that one chance that you might slip up and say

You need me and want me as I need you and want you

My emotions for you pour from my heart

As your thanks fill the silence on the phone

But the void is in my heart

And there it remains

Undying love so pure so true

Like petals falling from a Dogwood tree

Try as you might your petals never fall quite right

For they always seem to miss my heart

Unintentionally they fall by the wayside and are swept away

All this while I beg and plead to feel just one

Just one petal to clutch in my palm

It seems that every now and then Im able to grab a petal or two

Just to have them ripped away moments later by the wind that is your indecisiveness

And so our love goes up and down and back and forth

Like the wind that scatters our petals and places them out of reach

What will happen one day if that wind becomes so strong,

That it rips our tree from the ground

Will we replant it or let it fall by the way like the petals of our love?
