My SupermanA Poem by Shannon536A Fathers Day poemDear Superman:
There was a day not long ago when you really needed me, And because you are my Superman, I was not sure how to be.
So I reached down and held your hand for longer than a while, and in your eyes I saw my past, and could not help but to smile.
My Superman would fish with me for hours in a day My Superman he sat with me and chased the Ghosts away.
On slippered feet I'd take a ride across the Kitchen floor and even though his legs grew tired, he'd always give me more.
My Superman worked hard and long so we could have the best, My Superman he even cried, the day I left the nest.
I should have told you long ago, you've always played a part, You are the blood that runs my veins, you are my very heart!
So Superman, put down your cape, now you can lean on me, through sick or well, my Superhero DAD, you'll always be!
Love you so much Dad! -Shannon © 2011 Shannon536 |
