Selfie centered

Selfie centered

A Poem by Shannekin
"

Sure you look great when you glance in the mirror, but what and who are you seeing? A reflection can be bitterly honest or comfortably deceiving. Are you seeing your truth or believing your lies?

"
Behind the image that you choose to see,
The truth will be waiting to set you free.
Denying the darkness that silently lives within,
Not knowing that beauty lies deeper than skin.
Trusting completely in your mirrors reflection,
Gives you an unhealthy sense of false perfection.
Grotesquely casual with self centered intent,
Deception has always been your signature scent.
The person that you really are no one has a clue,
For not even to yourself have you ever been true.
