The most epic battle that could ever take place
Is one between your heart and your mind
They’re barely ever on the same wavelength
It’s virtually impossible to get them to agree

It’s stubborn
And you can’t get through to it
There’s no way it can understand what you’re talking about
The only thing it gets

And you’re asked for forgiveness
There’s no hesitation
Your heart is there
Back to give them another chance
As long as it doesn’t need to stay broken
It’s all good
It’s happy
But your mind is the difficult part
Although it may not be logical all the time
There is a certain amount of logic that you always hold onto
But for some reason
When the heart gets involved
There’s not much your mind can do at all
You can think over and over again
That what you’re doing is wrong
You can think about everything that has gone wrong
And you can fling every single argument in your hearts direction
But no matter how intelligent the argument
No matter how much sense you may make
And how right you know you are
Your heart’s a stubborn b*****d
And doesn’t f*****g care
Because it may be snapped into pieces
A million f*****g times
But as long as it’s stuck back together
In the least
And not just left smashed
It feels like it owns the world
And although it doesn’t
It can still own you
Which is enough power
To make it happy
It can control you
It can make you do stupid things
And go completely against yourself
And your morals
And your logic
It can make you weak
When you’re Hulk Hogan
And dumb
When you’re Albert Einstein
You can’t really help it
There’s no real cure
It makes you think sometimes
That the people out there
That don’t give a s**t about anyone but themselves
Are the smartest people alive
They don’t have to struggle with themselves
They don’t have to have two different parts of their anatomy
At war with each other
It sucks to care sometimes
And although love can be amazing
And tingly
And wonderful
It can suck
And sometimes just make you want to tell your heart
To shut the f**k up
Grow some balls
And listen for once
And then maybe it won’t be so goddamn retarded.
