Lana Tries

A Story by Shannalynn
"

A teenage girl falls in lov with a bad boy, but there's a twist. Someone else falls in love with her, and things go the complete opposite way then as she suspected.

"
Lana was walking down the side of the dark paved road. As she wondered what life really meant to her. All she really saw was a careless, hot headed mess of a boy named Jake who had no interest in anything that was at the level of knowledge she was. He was a jerk to anyone unless they were what he would call appealing to the eye, or some ugly girl he pays to do his homework and school assignments every week. Lana saw all the mischief in Jake, but somewhere under all of that hot headed bad boy act she just new there was still that sweet little boy she had met and fell in love with in the sixth grade.
It all started in sixth grade, it was Lana's third school she had been to in the past two months, so yeah she was no stranger to being the outcast. She was so used to moving that she started to not even finish unpacking her belongings once her family got moved into their temporary homes. As soon as Lana got home she burst into tears crying about how horrible the kids are and her day was at the new school. She cried, all the kids were laughing at me pointing at my pants saying that I had a big stain on them. "Oh no Lana Ray, this only means you have become a women now! No need to be ashamed by this, smiled her mom dearly." When you go back to school don't pay them idiotic children any mind, because there is not a thing wrong with what happened to your pants every women has went through the same thing in their life.
Lana started her period, it was blood that stained her pants. She just didn't know what being a women was all about yet. When she went to school the next day she was still a little nervous, because of the little incident that happened yesterday. She had remember what her mother told her though, so she knew that every thing would be okay. During lunchtime Lana went into the bathroom to hide, because she saw the girls that were picking on her and they followed her in. They started chanting mean things to her and making her feel embarrassed. She thought this nightmare would never end so she ran out into the hall and slid down the wall crying.
A little boy walked out of a nearby classroom with the teacher screaming at him telling him that she refuses to ever teach him again. He saw Lana and decided to slide down right beside her. She looked up wiping the tears from her eyes. "You're Lana right?", the boy smiled. Yes, yes I am. How exactly do you know me? Well my names Jake and it looks like you're kind of famous here now, because of yesterday. It's okay though I was probably one of the only people who didn't laugh at you. I understand what you're going through I have an older sister that hates me when she's on that time of the month. Come on how about we go get some lunch you look like you're starving.
Well Lana and Jake our in the twelfth grade now, and are more strangers to each other than ever before. They happen to be complete opposites from each other and may possibly never speak again, but Lana doesn't want to ever let that happen so she has to build up the courage to talk to him. In order to get to him she plans on getting close to his sister first, but there's a twist because what Lana doesn't know is that Jakes sister is a lesbian. She finds her on a website called make a wish, make a friend.
Jakes sisters name is Misty, and they happen to be only two years apart. She has had a crush on Lana since the eighth grade, when Lana and Jake met in the sixth. Lana used to come over with Jake to do little projects for school and they were on the same basketball team together, but Misty made her self as non visible as possible. The closer Jake and Lana got the more jealous Misty became, but she could never let her true feelings interfere with her brothers happiness! She could never let Lana know how she really feels anyways, because all she was to Lana was Jakes mean older sister and their waitress/caretaker while she was over.
Then, one day while Misty was checking to see if she got any new friend requests on her make a wish, make a friend page a particular name stood out to her. The name read Lana Ray Thompson. She could not believe what she was seeing, could this really be the Lana she remembered? Would her dreams of them being together finally come true? Well why she was having her little fantasies, Lana noticed she had accepted her request. Lana couldn't be any more than overjoyed, this meant she was one step closer to being with Jake, or so she thought.
Jake was a bad boy now, so troubled that he could never go back to his sweet innocent ways. He cared about no one but himself, not even his family. For some reason Lana and everyone else who loved him saw otherwise though. They thought that there may still be a chance of getting sweet and kind Jake back. The only person who wasn't fooled by his exotic ways now was his sister, she knew there would come a day that he would see evil. According to her it happens to all men, and all women think they can change the guys for the better. The fact that they never can though proves how hopeless Lana's chances with Jake will always be.
Lana thought Jake was different from the rest of the other guys though. She thought somewhere deep inside him that little boy that became her friend the day she needed it the most would shine through and overtake all the bad parts of Jake. She knew this was something that could only hope in a fairytale though. Lana was a very intelligent, beautiful girl. The only thing missing from her was an absence of love, she never really felt loved by anyone until she food Jake in sixth grade. So she thought maybe if he could love her she could conquer the world. Loving Jake came with obstacles though.
Misty and Lana started becoming very close friends. It was almost home coming and Lana thought it'd be the perfect time to slip to Misty that she was in love with her brother, but needed her help getting him to feel the same. She went to Misty's room after school to wait thirty minutes for her to get there just like any other day, but this time it was different. She opened the bedroom door and found herself surrounded by colorful balloons. Misty walked towards her holding a giant teddy bear saying I love you beary much! Will you be my date to homecoming , and for the rest of my life? Lana was so in shock she passed out right there on the floor.
She was asleep for hours, and then she finally woke up and when she did she told Misty that she loved everything she had done for her, but she was in love with Jake. "I was going to ask you if you could help me ask him to homecoming.", said Lana. I am so sorry to have put you through all this trouble for a turn down, but I have been madly in love with him since the sixth grade, I can never forget how he helped me at one of the roughest times in my childhood. Misty looked quiet upset, but she knew this whole thing with Lana coming to her as an act of fait was too good to be true, so she decided to help her.
Okay I know you like my brother and all, but I have to warn you he is a bit of a player. I've known this for a while now, but I know for a fact he is the one. I love Jake very much and would do anything to make him happy! So the two girls sat and chatted for awhile thinking of ways that Lana could ask Jake to homecoming without it being too girl for him. Then when they finally got it, the girls had it al planned out and ready to put it into action. Misty would call her brother the next day and ask him to come to the house after school instead of his friends like he normally would, to play a little one on one sis against bro basketball game. When really it would be Lana meeting him there.
The next day came and Lana was all prepare for Jake to come and was sure her and Misty's great plan would work out perfectly. Then finally Jake arrived a little late, but he got there. Lana came out carrying a basketball that said Lets shoot for the stars, and hope we hoop one at homecoming , and a box of chocolate with his jersey number on it, saying give me a chance, a date? She said so what do you say? Jake said no, " Lana you are a really nice girl and all, but I am not ready to settle and be in a relationship. I would never want to hurt you. I really appreciate the effort you put into this all for me, I will go to the dance with you but only the dance." Misty popped out, so that makes three of us!
Lana and Misty got matching dresses, and got Jake a tux with a bow tie to match their dresses. They took pictures together, and had one of the most amazing nights ever that they will most certainly always remember! They all hangout everyday after school, and Lana and Jake became best friends again. It turns out Jake was the one after all, just not the way she imagined it. She was longing for a friendship that was once there and had gone missing and she finally found it other than a lover that was never there. THE END.

I wrote this story early in the morning, because I couldn't sleep and was very bored. My Dad read it and was really impressed. This all is realistic fiction and it just came out the top of my head.
