Wonder

Wonder

A Poem by Shanna (Renae)
"

Dedicated to my friend Michael H.

"

I have wondered.

At the stars in the night

and His love.

How can He love all,

and each?

I cannot comprehend.

I have wondered.

At the sweet melodies

of music,

and the way

some songs

make me long to dance.

I have wondered.

This wind on my cheek,

who else has it caressed?

Where does it go

and what does it take

with it?

I have wondered.

At a small flower, with the sun

shining through it's petals.

Could it be

He made this one

just for me?

I have wondered.

Of the way one falls

in love.

What is it that takes hold

of your heart?

and gives it away?

I have wondered.

At His plan

and where it will lead.

I do not fear,

for His plans give me hope

and a future.

I have wondered.

I wonder still,

and stand in awe of Him.

Awesome poem! I think if a person ever looks at God's creation in wonder that they will continue to do so forever. Our God is amazing. I love the following stanza
I have wondered.

At a small flower, with the sun

shining through it's petals.

Could it be

He made this one

just for me?

I love that in all of God's awesome power He still takes time to care for each of us individually. You painted a brilliant picture of God showing his love for us even in creation itself. I love the pleasent feel of this poem. The speaker seems content and at peace as they take in all the beauty of creation and ponders on their creator. Good work!

Totally amazing and I completely agree with you. I often wonder if many tiny and minute things just happened to be made for me. I mean, it seems like with a God so huge, you're little life and observations are nothing, but He really cares.
Beautiful imagery; "I have wondered./I wonder still," that bit there was just a change from all the other stanzas that started with "I have wondered".

I absolutely love this poem!
Especially the first and last stanzas.
He loves everyone so much--I can't comprehend that,
and yet He loves me enough to want to have a part in my life and my future.
Beautiful!

This is a wonderful poem. It is so honest and insightful. Though you wonder, you still have the faith to let God take care of what you do not understand. I look forward to your next poem.

Wonderfully written poem Renae. It's human nature to wonder, even though we won't have answers in this lifetime. Everything about this just screams Faith. great job. :)

BraVO! Encore!
Wow, this was simply marvelous. Lovely. So original, I could never find anything to criticize. I loved this stanza;
"I have wondered.
At a small flower, with the sun
shining through it's petals.
Could it be
he made this one
just for me?"
Amazing. I've sometimes thought many of these thoughts myself--and that's the best kind of poetry, that relates to the heart.
Simply amazing. One reminder--you might want to capitalize the 'Him's, because, after all, he is God.
Love it. Great job.
