Sisters

Sisters

A Poem by Shanna (Renae)
"

In honor of the best sisters ever

"

talking and teasing

when we're supposed to be working

telling stories

true and imaginary.

when we're laughing

we can't breathe.

reading books

or taking walks in green woods.

discussing doctrine

bible verses, and life.

through it all

finding balance.

staying up late

sharing secrets and chatting about boys.

leaning on our elbows

on the bed

our feet in the air,

till we start to yawn.

an unbeatable team

with unconditional love

true friends

to the end

fighting each others' fights

and always there when it counts.

LOVED IT! Keep this forever...show it to your kids when you grow up...or I will, lol. I wish everyone had the relationship that us four sisters have.

Most of all I remember laughing in the kitchen, doing chores, and making up "funny stories" for ya'll....me making everyone laugh till they were choking on their food and making water come out their noses!

And the boy talks....we still have those every other evening, lol. I love those.

I LOVE THIS!!! You're the best, sis. :)

I don't have a sister, but I have a best friend who pretty much fits the description. I consider her my sister. And I know the feeling of everything you mentioned! Late night boy talks, standing up for one another, laughing about nothing.... I don't know what I'd do without those moments and my sister. Amazing poem :]

Oh I loved this! I know (somewhat) what you're talking about, having two great brothers that are my best friends. This is so cool!
OK--was this intentional?--I noticed that you have four stanzas in the poem and there are four of you sisters, right? Was that an accident or did you mean it that way? I thought that was cool.
I'm terrible at trying to improve poetry, so I won't even try. I don't see anything that should be changed anyway. Great job!

Beautiful... This is such a wonderful poem because it is from your heart. I can really feel the love that you and your sisters have for one another through it. Isn't it amazing that, even though you didn't get to choose them, your sisters have turned out to be some of your greatest friends. I remember seeing my sisters and wondering what they had had that me and my brother didn't. Now I know.

marvelous way with passion and wording, I'm been amazed by each one of your works, classy style
and captures life, living the moment, its truly is reading a page from the heart of the author,
as in sentimental, sincere, formulated. this awsome poem flows with lighthearted bliss
and time, reveals in many ways a past in reflections, the present and a glimpse of the future,
