Chapter 7A Chapter by Shane WilliamsChapter 7 Back on normal heaven
Dervish and Lemionas are deep in conversation, walking through the ruins of
heaven. Lemionas turns towards Dervish “So tell me again who is controlling
your father exactly?” Lemionas asks. Dervish keeps walking, “Someone called
Icarus. He used to be a good friend of mine once, until he became corrupted
with his power. His power could let him control minds, only for short periods.
Realising the possibilities he trained trying to master them more, till he turned
on me” Lemionas looks at a ruined sculpture before looking at Dervish, “What
did he do?” Dervish gives a sigh closing his eyes, “One day during training as
an experiment he took control of my abilities, losing control my power caused havoc
on the training field. That day I took ten lives” Lemionas remains silent, “my
god” “It doesn’t stop there”, Dervish replies, “Sensing he could control hell
he directly went to the throne room and took control of everything”. After several
seconds the large squad of soldiers appears, with their flags raised high and
the sound of their bellowing horns. Many of them hold cruel looking blades,
jagged and marked with indentations. Some of the unit carry large axes curved
to a sharp point. One of them is holding a large sword, smeared in oil. Their
footsteps get louder, making dust rise into the air. The man in charge lifts
his head seeing their targets up ahead. Immediately quickening the march. Then his
expression drops, lurching forwards, a sword poking out his back. Everything
seems to slow down, Dervish’s mouth opening, a silent scream. Lemionas falls to
the ground., with a thud. Dervish makes his way over to him, clearing a path to
Lemionas. He crouches down towards his body with care looking into his dying
face. “I guess this is the end for me...” Lemionas utters, “didn’t think my
life would end like this...” Dervish lifts his head looking at him, “I can
still save you I can...” “No...”, Lemionas utters, “Vital spot. I won’t
survive” Dervish looks at the sword before moaning in desperation. “Please...
don’t be angry at Matius...he’s been through a lot. I know you’re not... a
monster” Lemionas utters giving a little smile. “Show him...show him what you
can be....fight for him” Dervish looks down at Lemionas in sadness,
“tell...tell Matius I’m sorry...” Matius goes
deeper down into the lake, unconscious, air bubbles rise to the surface. On the
surface his opponent waits patiently, somewhat disappointed. “I expected more
from you....such a disappointment”. The water calms down, not even moving. In
the depths of the vast sea Matius remains to fall, his body unable to react,
almost in a slumber, peacefully. Not even a sound is heard. Then the necklace
around Matius’s neck starts to twitch, having a life of its own. Almost trying
to pull Matius to the surface with no avail, like a float on the lake. The
cross suddenly freezes glowing white, highlighting Matius’s face. It sends a
shockwave through the water. Then up rises
Matius, in the middle. His cloak flapping uncontrollably, his arms stretched
out to the sides in a stance, his eyes glowing white in vengance. “Let’s finish
this” His voice sounds deep the air around him whistling . His opponent expressions
change in aggravation braces himself, ready for the oncoming attack his sword
raised high. The wind suddenly increases as Matius catches his opponent by surprise;
flying right towards him, sending waves both sides. He just manages to block
Matius’s attack, Matius’s eyes glow, staring down at his opponent pushing him
down towards the water. Matius puts more pressure into the attack, forcing his
opponent into the cold dark water. Both of them fight underwater as his
opponent tries to swing his sword underwater only for Matius to just dodge the
blade swing. Matius quickly swings his sword underwater just narrowly missing
his opponent’s chest. Sensing an opening he rushes at Matius again, this time
however Matius quickly turns his eyes glowing white as his scream blasts his
opponent with force throwing him back into the air. There is more thunder as Matius’s
opponent rises into the air shaken from this power. Quickly watching the water
surface, his eyes switching from left to right in tension. Suddenly Matius blasts
through the water below his opponent and both swing their swords.... .Back on earth
Ivan remains fighting his other as he’s slammed into a wall. Tiredness is
starting to take effect, his swings become weaker and his confidence is
diminishing. In the distance Matius suddenly teleports ahead on a building top seeing
Ivan battered up. He drops down heading towards Ivan somewhat surprised. “What
the hell happened” he asks concerned how Ivan’s losing. Ivan glances up at
Matius, “What does it look like” he utters in annoyance. Matius lowers himself
down as Ivan looks ahead. “This guy.. is persistent” giving a smile, “I’m not
sure if I can beat him”. Both look
ahead seeing Ivan’s other looking towards Ivan who starts to walk towards them.
“Did you find your other?” Ivan questions turning towards Matius. “Yes I beat
him” “Hmm.. lucky you” Ivan utters, looking back at his opponent who stands
still in patience. Matius takes his necklace from his neck, holding out towards
Ivan urgently. “This might help against him” Ivan looks at the necklace then
back at Matius nervously, “What is this?” “it’s a charm given to me. It gives
you luck” Just how do you know this will work?”Ivan questions unimpressed with
such a small thing. “Look just put it on!” Matius demands. Ivan angered takes
the necklace from Matius, grasping it into his normal hand, the cross in the
palm of his hand. “Finally ready?” Ivan’s other utters in annoyance. Ready Ivan
wraps the necklace around his wrist before it starts to shine. Up ahead Ivan’s
other starts to make a move towards Ivan, losing his patience. Matius turns to
Ivan, giving a nod for luck. Ivan then focuses
on his other going into a run, gripping tightly onto the sword.... Just as Ivan
swings his sword it breaks through his opponent’s sword causing an explosion of
energy. The light dims away revealing Ivan standing over his fallen opponent,
looking down at him with respect. The fight over
Matius walks over to Ivan, both standing side by side. “He was tough” Ivan
admits, praising his opponent. Matius looks down gripping Ivan’s shoulder
looking back at Ivan’s other. “We must get back to heaven” Matius suggests.
Ivan turns towards Matius giving a nod. He grips Matius’s shoulder while
focusing on his energy. The air hums around them as both disappear from earth.
