Life's elixir.

Alchemy

All that gathers are dreams and lust.

Yet we both recollect to dust.

Snarls and entrapments our enemies conceive.

Smiles and smirks; they all deceive.

 

Come onto me and never betray.

Speedily swift and never delay.

The long-lasting love, hidden is, within fortresses.

Seekers we are, dwelling within whimsical wildernesses.

 

Trust me, do you? Do you have faith?

I will never disappoint. Promise, I do; in comfort we bathe.

The doubters say we live an enchantment.

They criticize and condemn the lovers’ entailment.

  

Fly and soar we will.

Laugh and cry upon happiness’s hill.

Live and die together we shall,

Because you’re my only love and truest pal.

Hello Will,
Thanks for dropping by. I think my constraints are the problem. I'm working on getting my mentality straight. I wish I could go back to writing short stories, and reading them. I just feel fulfilled when I do so; I feel that it gives me an edge over other writers to be a poet, and an author at the same time; something that we both have the talent for. I haven't read or written for months. Honestly poetry is sort of a snack for me. Thanks for your constant support old friend.

The poem could be about enjoying life as we are alive because moments in real life could be Heaven and the after world an illusion as ashes that are forgotten after what keeps the burning flame alive disappears.
