Whole

Whole

A Poem by Shane Hogan Poetry

I count all I see in this world of infinite possibility,

Millions of moments become and transpire;

in a single blink of an eye.

I perceive a miraculous sight,

after a bout of double vision;

it removes my stimulation,

simulating bare reality.

I see the toll in this world of subtraction.

I see multiple faces with divided minds from complex problems.

It seems some solution has refined my cell

to a level of differentiation as I shadow figures;

I conceive the mathematical and quantify the physiological,

in the matter of what is biological.

I have a single wavelength of thought,

in this world of individual thoughts;

It resonates outward and removes

the fine finishes of all that is greater than.

A pen drops , a war starts

A single noise, a single second;

Then a single noise resonates past the single second,

to which the single second resonates beyond itself.

History melts and blurs as the wars are dropped

and the pens are started,

all that is greater than finally finishes,

it removes outward resonation ;

The individual thoughts in this world,

become a thought I have of a single wavelength.

The selfishness in my economy of thought has decreased,

and is now entirely free.

Only a single scarcity exists,

but is fulfilled with thoughts of thinking;

Every word adds consciousness to my people,

so I talk in sentences, to convey in totals,

I see the simplified in this world of simplicity

and I reject the average value;

until these standard deviations are no more.

It bothers me deeply that poems of this caliber are so well viewed but so under reviewed. As though anything more than twenty lines and two syllables is unworthy of anyone's time. Or maybe so many just don't care to THINK about what is being said. This would be killer spoken word although I wouldn't be able to get all the words out myself. I would love to hear this, but its fine on its own and makes a strong point, several points actually - I gravitated toward the second stanza myself but the whole poem is complex and well crafted.

Very Beautiful piece! I could imagine myself in each period. Thank You so much for letting me reflect on life and how social/economical/cultural fears impacts us in both positive and negative ways! -Julie

Quite the thought provoking piece. Life has many twists and turns and you have woven a masterful piece here depicting this.

I like the variation between subject matters like Math, English, Philosophy, and etc. Lovely writing by the way very enjoyable to read. Mind boggling, makes people think instead of given people the answer you make them ask the question which is very impressive. Keep up the good work.

My Poet friend. A amazing poem. Many kinds of poetry. This poem was create to make the reader think and ponder.
"A pen drops , a war starts
A single noise, a single second;"
The questions of life are many. Decisions made by people not effected. If men would send their kids to war. War would end. We need a pot of coffee and time to discuss the amazing poetry.
